Waynetown, March 9 - An illness contracted while he was on flood duty in Harrisburg, Ill was blamed for the death of Walter Gray, 34, according to word received by relatives here today. Mr. Gray, whose parents. James T. and Ella Fouts Gray were born near Waynetown, died at a hospital at Harrisburg at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Gray's residence is in Danville, Ill.  He had been summoned to the flood area Jan 3 along with other members of Company B, 130 Ill Infantry of the National Guard. He was stricken with pneumonia which later developed into typhoid fever.  a Recent blood transfusion was given in an attempt to sav ehis life. He had been a member of the guard for 13 years. The only immediate survivors is a sister, Mrs. Nellie Hall of Danville, Ill but several distant relatives live in this vicinity, Mrs. Gray was born in Veedersburg. The body will be sent to the Edmand and Dickerson Funeral Home at Danville where funeral services will full military services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
